Let’s look at an example in the form of Glyphs of Gitzan. In the base game, you can get 1000G for completing various levels on your way to level 50, while in this latest title update, it’s exactly the same situation except for the achievements that appear in some others levels when you complete them, such as at level 6 instead of level 4.
Of course, the difficulty of the achievements varies for each game, but most here should be very easy. As for why it’s allowed, Microsoft says in the rulebook that games can add achievements on a “semi-annual” basis:
“Titles are allowed to add achievements or player scores at any time post-launch, with or without relevant new content, but they may not exceed title- or calendar-based limits.”
“Note: ‘Semi-annual’ means January-June, July-December. Base game achievements and player score do not count towards semi-annual limits.”
The only major rule to adhere to is that achievements “represent a full exploration or engagement with game content”, and 200G must also be the maximum for each individual achievement. As far as we can tell, every game on this list has taken those limitations into account.
But what do you think about it in general? Do you like seeing title updates like these? Tell us below.
