Honda recall due to lack of tire information
Honda is recalling 1,725 of its 2024 CR-V vehicles. The automaker said the tire identification number is missing the required four-digit date code. If an owner’s TIN information is missing, they may not realize their vehicle is involved in a safety recall and will continue to drive with the recalled tires. This problem can lead to an increased risk of a crash, the NHTSA report said.
NHTSA said these vehicles do not meet the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 139, “New Radial Pneumatic Tires for Light Vehicles.”
To fix this problem, dealers will inspect and replace tires as needed free of charge. Withdrawal notice letters are expected to be sent on August 12. Owners can contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda’s number for this recall is BIS.
