One complaint I often hear about wireless headphones is that they don’t have enough bass. Some people just love the thump of a bass chorus and want the ground to move when they hear their favorite tunes.
Japanese brand Audio-Technica has acknowledged this criticism and developed new true wireless headphones with extra oomph. The ATH-CKS30TW+ headphones have launched today and are designed to deliver chest-pounding bass that belies their compact build. And just in case outside noise interferes with your bass line, all these headphones offer active noise cancellation.
Audio-Technical says these new headphones are the culmination of a 15-year quest for super-deep bass. To plumb the depths of mega-bass, the company has added acoustic channels and proprietary 9mm drivers that control airflow. And if bass is about anything, it’s all about moving larger amounts of air to get that big bass sound.
With tightly controlled low frequencies, detailed mids and what Audio-Technical describes as “gassy mass”, these headphones are the ideal gift for anyone who enjoys music, movies and games with maximum impact.
The Connect Audio-Technica app provides access to an ultra-low-frequency equalizer that extends the bass even further for body-moving beats. Four additional equalizer presets are also available so users can enhance everything from sound clarity to dynamic gaming. Presets are Bass Boost – Beat, Dynamic, Vocal and Clear. Presets can be set as favorites in the app and automatically applied to the earbuds with each listen.
The combination of deep bass and active noise cancellation makes the ATH-CKS30TW+ ideal for fully engaging in sound by tuning out unwanted sounds from air conditioners to the noise of public transport.
Accessible with a touch of the built-in touch sensor controls, active forward motion noise cancellation is complemented by listening and talking functions that enable ambient sounds and natural conversations in person without having to remove the headphones.
A full charge of the headset’s batteries provides up to 6.5 hours of playtime with noise cancellation enabled. With the spare charge kept in the headphone storage case, there is a total of 17.5 hours of listening time. If you want even longer battery life, turn off the noise cancellation and you’ll get up to 7.5 hours of playtime from the headphones or 20 hours with the charging case.
The ATH-CKS30TW+ is available in four colors and has a comfortable, natural fit that prevents bass frequencies from escaping, as well as physically stopping unwanted external noise from passing through the headphones.
Thanks to a comfortable fit and low weight, the headphones are suitable for walking and training. An IP55 waterproof and dustproof rating means sweaty gym sessions shouldn’t be a problem. An out-of-range buzzer and a product locator also mean users don’t have to lose their headphones by forgetting or misplacing them.
Price and availability: The Audio-Technica ATH-CKS30TW+ wireless headphones will be available from today priced at $99 / £89 / €99.
