The iPhone 16 series is probably only a few months away at the time of writing, and as usual with new iPhones, we’ve already seen dozens of leaks and rumors.
As such, we have a pretty good idea of what to expect from these phones, so below we’ve detailed all the possible specs for each expected model – namely the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone. 16 Pro Max.
These predictions are based on the most reliable leaks and rumors we’ve seen so far, along with educated guesses based on Apple’s usual models. So none of this has been confirmed, but there’s a good chance that a lot of this will turn out to be true.

The iPhone 16 could have either an A17 Pro chip (like the iPhone 15 Pro) or a new A18 chip, depending on which leaks you believe.
In recent years, Apple has equipped standard iPhone models with last year’s Pro-level chips, so if the company continues this pattern, then we will see the A17 Pro. But even if it gets a new A18, this could still be a weaker chip than the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, as they may have an A18 Pro according to the leaks. So, whatever the case may be, expect the chipset here to be less powerful than the one in the top-of-the-line iPhone 16 series.
Multiple leaks have said that the iPhone 16 will have 8GB of RAM, so that seems guaranteed as there are no conflicting reports. We haven’t heard much about storage, but this is likely to be similar to the iPhone 15, with 128GB, 256GB and 512GB models on offer – although an iPhone 16 leak suggests we could see 256GB as basic capacity.
The iPhone 16’s display probably won’t get much of an upgrade either, with reports suggesting it’s still 6.1 inches, likely with a 60Hz refresh rate and a resolution of roughly 1179 x 2556. It’s expected to be OLED again, though according to a report, the iPhone 16’s display could be brighter than its predecessor’s 2,000 nits.
We have very specific battery specs, with multiple leaks saying the iPhone 16 has a 3,561 mAh, which would be about 6% larger than the 3,349 mAh battery in the iPhone 15.
Finally, the iPhone 16’s cameras will likely be unchanged, with the same 48MP main and 12MP ultra-wide snappers as expected last year. There’s no word yet on the selfie camera, so for now we’ll assume it’ll also be 12MP like the iPhone 15.

The iPhone 16 Plus is likely to have many of the same specs as the iPhone 16, based on past leaks and form.
We expect then to have the same chipset – either an A17 Pro or an A18, as discussed above.
It will probably also have the same amount of RAM, said to be 8GB, and identical storage capacities, likely 128GB, 256GB and 512GB – although a leak suggests a starting capacity of 256GB.
The screen will likely differ from the iPhone 16, but not in most ways from the iPhone 15 Plus, so we’ll likely see a 6.7-inch 1290 x 2796 OLED display once again, and unfortunately the iPhone The 16 Plus will probably have a 60 Hz refresh rate as well, although its display may become brighter than the iPhone 15 Plus’.
But unfortunately, multiple leaks suggest that the iPhone 16 Plus will actually have a smaller battery than its predecessor, at 4,006 mAh, instead of 4,383 mAh.
And for cameras, we’ll likely see the same cameras as last year for the iPhone 16 Plus, which means a 48MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 12MP front-facing camera.

Apple may have quite a few upgrades planned for the iPhone 16 Pro, starting with the chip, which will reportedly – and surprisingly – be a new A18 Pro.
However, this chipset is supposed to be paired with 8GB of RAM, just like the iPhone 15 Pro. This is a specification that may limit the artificial intelligence capabilities of the iPhone 16 Pro.
We haven’t heard much about the iPhone 16 Pro’s storage capacities yet, but we’re going to assume it will be largely the same as the iPhone 15 Pro, meaning 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB. That said, a leak shows a maximum capacity of 2TB. It’s also possible that Apple will drop the 128GB size, as it has already done with the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
As for the display, leaks suggest that the iPhone 16 Pro’s display will be slightly larger than its predecessor, at 6.3 inches, up from 6.1 inches on the iPhone 15 Pro. The iPhone 16 Pro screen can also be 20% brighter.
For the battery, leaks suggest that the iPhone 16 Pro will have a 3,355 mAh battery, making it slightly larger than the 3,290 mAh battery in the iPhone 15 Pro. The iPhone 16 Pro could also be charged faster, at 40 watts.
Finally, the iPhone 16 Pro is sure to get some camera upgrades, with leaks suggesting it gets the 12MP camera with 5x zoom already found on the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The iPhone 16 Pro may also have a new 48MP ultra-wide camera, which would be an improvement over the current 12MP model. However, reports suggest that the phone will retain the 48MP main camera and 12MP front camera of its predecessor.

The iPhone 16 Pro Max is sure to be the highest-spec model in the iPhone 16 lineup (well, unless we get an iPhone 16 Ultra anyway).
The Pro Max is said to be no more powerful than the iPhone 16 Pro, with the same A18 Pro chip and 8GB of RAM as its smaller sibling.
For storage, a report suggests that the iPhone 16 Pro Max will reach 2TB, instead of the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s 1TB. There’s no word on other capacities, but they’ll likely be the same as last year, meaning 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.
We’ve also heard that the iPhone 16 Pro Max could have a massive 6.9-inch display, up from its predecessor’s 6.7-inch display, and as with other iPhone 16 models its screen could be brighter than the current phone’s.
The iPhone 16 Pro Max’s battery will also be larger according to multiple sources, with leaks suggesting it will have a 4,676 mAh battery, instead of the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s 4,441 mAh. As with the iPhone 16 Pro, it will also reportedly charge at 40 watts.
Finally, we have the cameras, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max is said to get a new ‘super telephoto’ camera, which can zoom much more than the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s 5x. That said, this is an old leak, and if it happens at all, it could be aimed at an iPhone Ultra instead, so it’s just as possible that the iPhone 16 Pro Max will keep its current 12MP camera with 5x zoom.
In either case, it will reportedly have a new 48MP ultra-wide camera, just like the iPhone 16 Pro, but will probably have the same 48MP main and 12MP selfie cameras as its predecessor.
