We’ve been hard at work here at CN Towers, grabbing sales on Amazon and beyond. Here’s a rundown of everything we’ve managed to find so far, before we head out for the evening ahead of day two.
And with that, we’ll say goodbye. We’ll be back bright and early tomorrow with more of the same.
Unexpected flash sales at Competitive Cyclist and Jenson
Amazon can’t have all the fun – Something we’ve noticed in recent years is that the best deals are elsewhere, and now there are flash sales at Competitive Cyclist and Jenson to coincide with Amazon Prime Day. We’ll track each one down for the best deals to save you the chore, but if you want to get there straight away, then happy hunting.
Competitive Cyclist – Up to 60% off a huge range of products
Jenson USA – 20% off an eligible full price item with code TRAILDAYS, with an additional 15% off select items with code EXTRA15
The best cycling sunglasses just got better (well…cheaper). We’ve always been fans of the Oakley Encoder sunglasses and they sit at the top of our cycling eyewear buying guide as the best around, so finding them on sale is a real treat.
This isn’t an Amazon Prime Day deal, technically. It was actually found at Sigma Sports in the UK, but we’re not ones to shy away from a good product at a good price.
There may be non-Amazon shopping!
Some of you may not want to bother with a Prime subscription, free as it is for a month. Some of you may also think that Daddy Bezos probably has enough money by now, and you’d rather shop elsewhere.
If that’s you, I’ve scoured online retailers in both the UK and the US and discovered some great bargains. I’ll host them on a new page in due course, but for now here are the highlights…
AGREEMENT USA
UK Offers
The lowest price ever on the Wahoo Kickr Core, and why we wouldn’t necessarily buy it…
After revealing the lowest ever prices for a range of Garmin smartwatches, we’ve also noticed that the Wahoo Kickr Core is at its lowest ever price in the UK. However, this is a deal that requires a bit of explanation as it may not be all that it seems.
If you’re starting from scratch, you should factor in the cost of a new cassette and a subscription to an indoor training app like Zwift. If you don’t need them then it represents a bargain, but if you need everything to start indoor cycling then it’s almost as cheap to buy them all direct from Wahoo and take advantage of the price of of the package.
Garmin Edge 1030 Plus Mega Bundle Offer!
My colleague, Tom, discovered a sweet discount for the large and very capable Garmin Edge 1030. It’s been replaced by several new models in recent years, but especially if you’re commuting, it’s an extremely capable bike computer, now 40% off for our US readers.
Right, Josh has gone home for a deal-induced nap. Will Jones here, senior tech writer and keen bargain hunter, ready to steer the good ship HMS Bargain into strong deal winds, torturing a few metaphors in the process.
Smart watch deals
While cyclists favor bike computers, there are a significant number who favor smartwatches. These offer a number of advantages, not least greater multi-sport functionality for those who run and swim, or even kayak, ski, climb and a host of trackable endeavors.
Prime Day, outside of Black Friday, is usually the best time to pick up a new smartwatch, so here are the ones we think are worth it from the plethora of options available. We’ve already seen the lowest price ever for the Garmin Epix 2, and while it may not be possible, we’ll keep checking.
Other deals on headphones
Apple isn’t the only brand in the headphone space, of course, and I’ve recently found some good performers from Jabra whose noise-canceling modes work great, as well as a great budget performer from JLab. All the products below have been tested and recommended by the Cyclingnews team, and are available with a good first day discount.

First, a disclaimer: Please do not ride your bike outside with headphones on and music blasting. We’re vulnerable enough on the road as it is, so reducing (or completely removing) one of your senses isn’t good for keeping your wits about you.
With that said, there are many uses for headphones in relation to cycling. Whether you’re quietly listening to a podcast in one ear – as I often do when driving on quieter roads – or listening to music while turbo riding, a good pair of headphones can definitely improve your enjoyment of the ride. bicycle.
They even say that music can help reduce perceived exertion when you go on a hard training ride.
Some of the best deals we’ve seen so far include tech products, such as headphones, smartwatches, bike computers, smart trainers and bike lights. I’m going to spend some time going through the best we’ve found so far…
