New video reveals millionaire banker Jonathan Kaye was gang-busted before groping woman at NYC Pride event

Never-before-seen footage has shed new light on the moments just before investment banker Jonathan Kaye ran over a woman at a Brooklyn Pride event.

Kaye, 52, turned himself in Monday and was charged with second- and third-degree assault stemming from the June 8 incident.

In new video shared with The Post by the victim’s attorney, Kaye can be seen briefly exchanging words with an anti-Israel LGBTQ group near the corner of Fifth Avenue and Third Street in Park Slope.

The new video shows a different perspective on the June 8 incident in which Jonathan Kaye, 52, was seen hugging a woman in Park Slope.

A member of the group douses Kaye with what appears to be water, at which point the banker pushes one of them and asks, in disbelief, “you’re going to shoot me?”

The group taunts Kaye and moments later someone else sprays him with red Gatorade, evidence of which was seen in previous coverage of the incident, the plastic bottle hitting him in the face.

This latest provocation sends him into a rage and he attacks the group, which disperses. As he appears to try to grab someone, he loses his footing on the edge of the sidewalk and briefly falls into the crosswalk, the video shows.

“Good, it serves you well. Why would you do that?” a member of the group taunts his way.

Kaye gets up and starts brawling with several people at once before pushing a woman in a black tank top to the ground. A few disapproving cries of “ohh!” stand out from the crowd.

Initial footage of the incident did not show the full context, where the group he confronted doused him with water and Gatorade and threw a plastic bottle at his face before things got physical. @hellosami/X

Someone appears to be trying to grab Kaye’s arm when he drops him with a right hook that goes off camera. He then leaves as several people yell at him.

“You are a terrible person! Go f–k yourself! Go die!” a voice calls out as Kay flashes her thumb without turning around.

Ron Kuby, the attorney representing both the woman who was slugged and the one who was pushed, welcomed Kaye’s arrest.

“It is good that he has been arrested and put under some form of prison control. My clients do not want him to serve prison time. They want it under some form of control. They want him to have anger management. They want him to come out of this as a better person…,” Kuby said Monday.

Kaye, who was initially placed on leave after outrage grew over the incident, resigned from his Manhattan-based investment bank at Moelis & Co. last week.

After the incident, his neighborhood was targeted by leaflets bearing his image and showing his name, address and job title, accompanied by the text “PUNCHED AT PRIDE PARADE”.

He avoided eye contact and fielded questions from reporters as detectives led him outside the NYPD’s 78th Precinct in Prospect Heights just before noon Monday, wearing a blue polo shirt, beige jacket, gray dress pants and wearing a sea mask over his face.

His lawyer, Danya Perry, doubled down on Monday, saying Kaye had been “terrorised, assaulted and surrounded by a group of unruly anti-Semitic protesters”.

“We hope that the District Attorney will fully and fairly take into account these facts, along with the wave of anti-Semitic acts, protests and attacks that are destroying our city,” she added.

“We will aggressively fight the injustice and expect a full vindication for our client.”

As for claims that Kaye was responding to anti-Semitism, Kuby countered: “No slurs were thrown. They didn’t know he was Jewish. They didn’t know he was a supporter of Israel, he just seemed like a random crazy man.”
