Welcome to our Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD Tutorial Series! Here we’re going to give you a 100% guided tour of the many haunted mansions on offer in Luigi’s second spooky offering. With step-by-step details on how to progress in each area, along with full guides for All Boo locations AND All Gem Locations, this is your one stop shop for this updated version of the game.
Digging into the opening level, and our first job is to get hold of Professor E. Gadd Poltergust 5000. To do this, we will have to go to Gloomy Manor. What could go wrong? Let’s go!
Walkthrough Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD – Gloomy Manor – A-1 Poltergust 5000
Going down to the first area and we start the game on the walk to the palace itself. Once at the entrance you will need it interact with the door to see a mouse with a key pop out and run across the yard. Follow him to grab the key and start our haunted house adventure!
Gloomy Manor Gem #1
it gem can shine from a purple flower to the right of the door with yours strobulb – so be sure to come back for it when you’re fully prepared!
Now, head to the manor and swing left in the first door in the corridor to get to Garage. Here you can interact with vases and other items to grab coinsand also check the old car, as you will find ours there Poltergust 5000. Easy!
You can now practice vacuuming on piles of dirty dust around the room by holding down ZR. You can also grab the cloth by holding ZR, then move Luigi backwards until you’re prompted to press A. Do this in back left corner of the garage to pull a sheet from the chest to attach a gold key to yourself which you will need back in the hallway to open the central door.
Before that, use Poltergust 5000 to pull the sheet from the door to the right of the hallway. Now enter here to find yourself in Bedroom. Once you enter here you will find another gold key above you stuck to a ceiling fan. Use your Poltergust to spin the fan and get it, then climb any other treasure and head back down the hall.
Gloomy Manor Gem #2
Out in the garden you’ll see a ghost puppy digging around, as well as a gem in the tree. Open the door to enter the garden area and exit to remove the gem from the tree.
Now we can move on Hall of the Guard where you will need it avoid the swords when they fall from each set of guard weapons. Go through the door using the golden key we found in the Mudroom and find ourselves in Foje. In this area you can find one heart in a vase behind the fish fountain. Now go to the stairs and the professor will interrupt you. It will inform you that you need one Strobulb – that’s the green thing stuck in a chandelier above you.
To get the lamp, go to upstairs via the stairs and direct the vacuum blasts at the fan above the light, this will lower the whole thing down, so now you can draw down and grab the lamp before it rises again. Once you have attached the bulb to the Poltergust 5000, you can open green panel doors, dazed ghosts, open vaults and more.
Before going through the door on the right at the bottom of the stairs, make sure to go back up and use your new lamp lighter to open the safe and get a bunch of coins. Now we can go ahead and enter our first proper scrap by going through the open scan door Dressing room. here, interact with the toilet to move to a hidden area with a showering ghost. After the ghost leaves in horror/embarrassment, make sure to collect every coin, use suction on the towels and so on to get some coin from this small room.
After returning to dressing room The first fight begins and it’s just you against a small, sharp green ghost. This is a good time to learn about light a ghost so you can then wrestle them with your vacuum. After stunning an enemy, zap it with Poltergust while holding the joystick in the opposite direction, tiring the ghost and enabling you to hit a big “A” push to knock it across the room.. Do this twice and the paranormal tracks evaporate from the doors. Well done, you survived your first encounter with ghosts.
But don’t relax just yet, the lobby now has a trio of cereal to pull outa good time to get some combat practice. Defeat these ghosts to end the level, while the professor takes you back to the safety of the bunker for a debrief and a look at what ghosts and treasures you’ve picked up!

Return to this mission after getting your darklight device and use it near the car in the garage to unleash the Boogie Woogie!
Defeat all the haunts by chasing them down and draining their energy with your Darklight before using your Poltergust to drain their energy.
